Despite bring the most powerful machine available to us these days, the computer still has its own limitations.
*Common sense
It has no commons sense or power of analysis. It works as per the instructions of the operator and on the basis of its installed programme.
This is because computer is merely a combination of electronic circuits in which bits of information and data travel with lighting speed. It does not have the sense of feel, touch smell, sight and hearing.
*Decision making
Computer supplies useful information and on that basis decisions are taken, but a computer independently cannot take any decision.
Decision making is a complex process and a computer cannot estimate a situation or analyze a situation and as a result, it has to wait for the instruction from its users. It does not have its own skill and knowledge.
*No I.Q
A computer possesses no intelligence and its I.Q is nil. It can perform only those jobs which are set by its user or operator.
Computer works on logic. If the logic is wrong, it will give bad results.
*No feeling
It can perform its job with great accuracy, but has no emotion or felling like human beings. Though it works independently within its program and after processing its data, converts them into information in a desired format, the program is set by human beings.
*A computer is confined within its programming
A computer’s performance is limited to its installed programme, because the format of a particular information may be changed manually by the user any time but it is not possible for a computer to satisfy the varying needs of the user without changing the installed programme.
Even if a program is not written correctly, the computer will still faithfully follow it with the correct data and the results will be according to the wrong program.
*Non-affordability
Initial cost of installing computers is very high, which puts limitation over it use.
