Risks of E-Business

Some survey indicate that half of all e-business implementations either fail or are only partially successful. Therefore, we need to give attention to risks.

Some examples of specific risk:
Loss of customer
If you drive customers to the web, they may find a better site and leave.

Customer dissatisfaction
Customers may not receive acceptable service through the web and the normal business.

Supplier dissatisfaction
Suppliers get involved with you in e-business and find the experience to less satisfactory than that was planned.

Reduced productivity
Due to a faulty implementation of e-business productivity is actually reduced.

Employee morale declineEmployees see e-business as a threat even after implementation.

Decline of IT level of support and serviceWith e-business implemented IT resources may be stretched too thin. IT then may not ne able to respond to the business in a timely way.

Management depression
E-business fails to deliver to the standards of the overly high management expectations set at the beginning.
