In the emerging economy there is a new infrastructure, based on the internet, that is causing us to scrutinies most of our assumptions about the business. As a skin of networks - growing in ubiquity, robustness, bandwidth, and function - covers the skin of the planet, new models of how wealth is created are emerging.

What is bus?

Bus is the name that is a vehicle of transmission of message within a higher-level protocol such as a cache coherence protocol. A single transaction within the higher-level protocol may require multiple messages on the bus.

Very often, the higher level protocol and the bus are co-designed to improve efficiency. In a personal computer, bus connects all the internal computer components to the CPU and main memory, which is called internal bus.

Bus is usually implemented on a connector, with lines of copper on a printed circuit broad or with a ribbon cable with on wire per bit.

In general there are three types of bus lines – address, data and control which respectively carry address, data and control information. Address and data may be sent over the same bus lines with additional control to indicate address or data is put on the bus.

A data bus can have any number of data lines as required by the application. However, the main characteristic of a bus is parallel data transfer.

Because all bits are transmitted at the same time over a parallel bus, data movement is extremely fast. The main benefit or parallel data transmission is its high speed.

Transaction processing systems

A business transaction is an interaction in the real world, usually between an enterprise and a person or another enterprise, where something is exchanged.

The transaction processing is the processing of business transaction by computers connected by computer networks.

Transaction processing systems are the most widely used information systems. The predominant function of transaction processing system is to record data collected at the boundaries of organizations, in other words, at the point where the organization transacts business with other parties.

Transactions processing system have to handle high volume efficiently, avoid errors due to concurrent operations, avoid producing partial results, grow incrementally, avoid downtime, never lose results, offer geographically distribution, be customizable, scale up gracefully, and be easy to manage. Many transaction processing systems also call for very large processing of data by hundreds of users using equipment distributed over dozens of locations spread over a vast geographical area.

Large enterprises in transportation, finance, retail, telecommunications, manufacturing, government, and the military are utterly dependent on transaction processing applications for electronic reservations, banking, stock exchanges, order processing, music and video services, shipment tracking, government services, telephone switching, inventory control and command and control.

Many large hardware and software vendors receive much of their revenue from components of transaction processing system, such as IBM, HO, Oracle, Microsoft, Dell, Red Hat and EMC.

What is E-business

What is E-business
E-business can be defined as the use of automation and communications to carry out business transactions without manual or labor intensive.

E-commerce consisted of the transactions that support e-business.

Customer and supplier information
E-business can give you billions of bytes of information on how people navigate your website. This is nice in academic books, but it is not the real world.

If your gather these data, you have to ask if it is worth it. How will you analyze it? What decision will you base on all of these raw data?

Experience shows that it is best to gather sales, workflow and other tangible information.

This can help you determine where you can further improve your processes.

Business transactions
It is here that e-business makes the difference. Organization rise and fall depending on the performance of key transactions.

Here is also where many e-business efforts fail. They do not address existing transactions, but instead focus on just the e-business. How well you do in e-business depends on how you deal with both regular and e-business transactions.

Information technology
Information technology (IT) is obviously a main ingredient in e-business. However, IT supports and enables e-business.

When you implement e-business, you ill enhance your IT infrastructure, but you are not going to replace it.

Even with a startup you will be able to afford only some key components. Moreover, of someone obsesses over IT, e-business is diverted. Important areas such as marketing and logistics are neglected.
