Components of business intelligence system

Business intelligence system are needed due to the vast amounts of data held in organizational information systems and the need to extract useful information from this in the form of patterns, trends and present this in understandable way to decision makers.

Business Intelligence systems are very complicated and expensive, not just in technology that is available in company but also level of educational and qualification of employees.

Business intelligence system has four major components of a data warehouse, business analytics, business performance management, and user interface.

A successful business intelligence system requires three elements: a sufficient amount of relevant base data, a technology infrastructure that enables the gathering of business intelligence from the base data, and technical expertise in properly organizing the data and integrating the technology infrastructure components.
